The Progressive Care Unit is a 6-bed in-patient unit designed to carefully monitor and treat patients who require specialized cardiac/post-operative care. To work in the Progressive Care Unit, our nurses need to have strong assessment and critical thinking skills, be proficient at cardiac rhythm interpretation, understand the relationship of multiple co-morbidities, and be able to work autonomously. The unit is comprised of 4 semi-private. The unit has a 24-hour telemetry LPN central station monitoring located on another unit but alarms are communicated via telephone. Patients with special requirements are placed strategically to provide optimal nursing care to meet individual needs. he unit remains operational 24 hours per 7 days per week.

REQUIREMENTS: NYS RN License and Registration required. BSN required or proof of current enrollment in BSN program. BLS/ACLS/PALS Certifications required. Two to three years experience in an acute care Telemetry or Med/Sug facility required. Excellent communication skills, organizational skills required.
