Medical Assistant, Bilingual

Responsible for para professional work under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse; assists with the performance of diagnostic testing and general care of patients in an age appropriate and culturally sensitive manner; performs tasks as assigned and reports significant data/information to Nurse. Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program and certification required. Basic computer skills required. Must be familiar with keyboard and the use of a pointing device. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred. Minimum of 2 years medical assisting experience in a hospital or ambulatory care setting required. Must have excellent verbal, telephone and written communication skills. Fluency in Spanish required. Must be familiar with measures of patient satisfaction and customer service.

BLS or CPR/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:

1. American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program

2. American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
