Vice President, Physician Recruitment

Position Summary:

Responsible for all business development functions of the CHSLI Physician Medical group including all phases of strategic physician recruitment, provider outreach, physician contracting and physician onboarding. Provides consultation, support, leadership, strategic oversight, and tactical management to identify, attract, and hire the highest quality practitioners in partnership with CHS leadership. The Director develops recruitment and acquisition protocols, leads the initial evaluation and operational integration of physician practice acquisitions, provides a business assessment of identified practices/businesses, and ensures compliance with CHS policy.

Duties & Responsiblities:

  • Participate in interviewing process with leadership.
  • Work closely with leadership to determine final choice of candidates to move forward with hiring or acquiring a practice.
  • Negotiate terms with physicians timely initiate term sheet and offer process internally.
  • Oversee due diligence and onboarding processes to ensure timely go-live.
  • Ensure collaboration / coordination among all stakeholders of recruiting /onboarding process (i.e. in addition to CAO etc. include credentialing, enrollment, IT, rev cycle, Finance, legal, etc.)
  • Provide regular updates on recruiting/contracting/onboarding to hospital and health system leadership, service line leaders and CHSLI corporate staff.
  • Initiate the contracting renewal process and oversee its completion for all physician employment, on-call and other physician-related agreements.
  • Manage recruiting/onboarding process to 4-6 months for every recruit.
  • In first year, eliminate backlog of contract renewals.
  • Meet annual recruiting targets.
  • Physician/CAO satisfaction for the direct hire/acquisition/onboarding experience.
  • Provider attendance and satisfaction of medical group events
  • Readership and engagement of annual communications plans?

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of ten years' experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in a large physician practice, health services or hospital setting.
  • Bachelors, Business, Finance, Healthcare management; Masters, Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Public Administration (MPA) or related field preferred.
  • Proven ability to consult with and influence key stakeholders up to and including the executive leadership team.
  • Excellent thought leadership and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects within a busy, dynamic team environment.
  • Proven ability and motivation to develop talent within the context of broader organizational strategy.
  • Conclusive knowledge of recruitment best practices and methodologies.
  • Ability to facilitate/present to and work with a mixed audiences up to and including senior management.
  • Strong consultative and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong data and talent analytics skills.
