The Medical Secretary will be working at the Cardiac Interventional Group.
The Medical Secretary is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care in a team based care and integrative health environment. The Medical Secretary must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient satisfaction and demonstrate effective communication and problem solving skills. Additionally, the individual in this role is responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointment, handling physician correspondence, contacting insurance companies for referrals and authorizations, assisting patients with various needs. This position requires the ability to function in a multi-tasking environment. The Medical Secretary assists in maintaining efficient patient flow and upholds an environment of patient safety.
Excellent interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills to enhance population specific service, team collaboration and analytical problem solving.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Able to multitask/work efficiently
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Able to use, maintain and troubleshoot office equipment
- Knowledge of EMR
- HS Diploma/GED required
- Associates degree or completion of an administrative program from an accredited school is preferred
- 2 years' experience in a medical office is required; One year experience in Cardiology preferred
- Bilingual Korean preferred
