Behavioral Intervention Specialist

Facility: Maryhaven Location: Port Jefferson Station, NY Department: CRS Clinical Category: Allied Health / Clinical Professional Schedule: Full Time Shift: Day shift Hours: Monday through Friday 9am-5pm ReqNum: 2808

Position requirements must be one of the following:

a) Level 1: At least a Master's degree from a program in a clinical and/or treatment field of psychology and have had documented training in assessment techniques and BSP development ANDhave had at least 5 years experience working directly with individuals with DD including the devising, implementation, and monitoring of BSPs AND/OR providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of BSPs.

b) Level 2:

i) National board certification in behavior analysis (BCBA) ANDhave a Master's degree in behavior analysis or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology which is approved by OPWDD review OR

ii) a Master's degree in a clinical or treatment field in psychology, social work, school psychology or a related human services field ORA NYS license in Mental Health Counseling ANDhave or obtain OPWDD-approved specialized training or experience in assessment techniques and BSP developmentANDhave provided behavioral services for an agency in the OPWDD system continuously since 12/31/2012 OR

iii) a Master's degree in a clinical or treatment field in psychology, social work, school psychology, or a related human services field AND function in the Psychologist I or Psychologist II Civil Services titles of NYS OR

iv) have a Bachelor's degree in a human services field AND have provided behavioral services for an agency in the OPWDD system continuously since 12/31/2012 AND is actively working toward a Master's degree in an applied area of psychology, social work or special education OR completes at least one graduate-level course in an applied health services area of applied psychology, social work, or special education each year.

2.Training in behavioral assessment techniques and program development required.

3.Maintains valid NYS driver's license within agency criteria.

4.Maintains SCIP-R, CPR and First-Aid Certifications.
