Location: Rockville Centre, NY Department: Neuroscience Service Line Category: Physician / Advance Practice Professional Schedule: Full Time, with Weekend and Holiday rotation Shift: Day shift ReqNum: 6052903 PA for St. Catherine Siena Hospital and St. Charles Hospital# Position Summary: Comprehensive Neuroscience patient management: Clinical Support for the Neuroscience Service Line Initiatives in collaboration with CHSLI affiliated Provider Groups Responsibilities: All phases of Neuroscience patient management including but not limited to: Joint commission accredited stroke center Innovative techniques for treating aneurysms and complex spine cases Working one-on one with ICU attending to manage and treat patients Provide clinically applicable evidence based practice of the hospitalized patient inclusive of the pre, intra # post-operative care period to the Neuroscience patient population. Medical management of the Neuroscience population in collaboration with other medical disciplines to ensure patient throughput across the CHS care continuum. Perform Neuroscience Consultations # perform clinical responsibilities as delegated by the Service Line leadership. Render patient specific care including ordering, reviewing and interpreting laboratory # radiologic studies. Comprehensive clinical documentation in the EMR in compliance with Neuroscience coding initiatives. Educate patients, families # care providers with disease processes # implemented plan of care to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. Discharge planning education including review of discharge instructions and medication prescribing in compliance with state # federal regulations. Coordination patient care plans with Consulting Physicians and other clinical providers involved in the management of Neuroscience patients. Education, Training # Experience: Physician Assistant must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant. Physician Assistant#s must have current NCCPA certification. Nurse Practitioner must be a graduate of an approved program for the training of NP#s. Must have current and unrestricted Medical license. NP#s must have current RN license and current NYS AANP or ANCC certification. Bachelor#s Degree required. NYS licensed with certification. Previous Neuroscience/Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred. BLS and ACLS certification required DEA registration required for those with discharge responsibilities. Competency to practice medicine with physician supervision required. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook Email required. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records. Bachelor#s Degree required. NYS licensed with certification. ACLS required. Previous Neuroscience/Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred. BLS/ACLS/PALS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations: American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS/PALS for Healthcare Providers (CPR # AED) Program American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescue No online programs from any organization will be accepted. #
