Responsibilities:

Perform 12 Lead EKG

Prepare EKGs to be interpreted by physician

Edit EKG reports after physician review if needed

Troubleshooting of EKG equipment and transmission issues

Send and deliver EKG reports to appropriate locations

Ensure EKG charges are processed accurately

Schedule outpatient appointments in Star and Epic

Answer phones professionally and provide excellent customer service

Act as a liaison between physicians and IT when needed

Support and help maintain EKG carts on nursing units

Instruct CAs, techs, and nursing staff on proper use of EKG carts

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma

Experience/skills: Training as an EKG Technician in either a hospital or an acceptable Technological school. Warm manner in approach to patients/visitors and hospital personnel. Ability to interpret Cardiac Rhythms Excellent oral, written, communication skills. Computer knowledge (CRT/WP) preferred.

Risk Exposure: Moderate risk of exposure to infectious diseases, and blood-borne pathogens.

Hazard Assessment: Moderate risk for exposure to hazardous materials.

Physical Demands: Moderate physical activity, some lifting, and pulling required.

Mental Demands: Volume of work and situations may cause stress.
