Position Summary: The Office of General Counsel provides legal services to support the operation and strategic initiatives of Catholic Health and its member facilities, programs and ambulatory care services. As Senior Associate Counsel, you will be an integral member of the legal team at Catholic Health. #Reporting to the General Counsel, you will work closely with other Catholic Health attorneys and with health system leadership in operations, strategic and clinical affairs.# The ideal candidate will have demonstrated in-depth expertise in health care law, including complex contracts and transactions, and familiarity with the fraud and abuse laws that apply to health care. The candidate will advance contracts and transactions, including drafting and negotiation, analysis of compliance issues and assessment of existing and evolving federal and state regulations applicable to the arrangements and Catholic Health operations. All members of the Office of General Counsel have extensive interaction with our clients and must have the capacity to interact effectively with leadership across the organization. Position Requirements and Qualifications: All candidates must have prior in-depth experience and expertise in health care law, including complex contracts and arrangements with vendors and other providers;# Knowledge of the fraud and abuse laws, including the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute, strongly preferred;# Expertise in physician contracts, managed care and value-based arrangements, population health, information privacy and security, and finance would each be an additional strength; Excellent drafting skills and experience;# Strong analytic skills and the ability to assess the business and legal aspects of transactions and advise clients about both; Ability to take initiative and work independently and as an integral member of the legal team; Capacity to manage a multi-faceted workload effectively; Willingness to learn and tackle evolving areas of law and legal problems; and Excellent problem-solving abilities, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. #Licensed and admitted to practice law in New York State or another state.
