Patient Advocate

Facility: St Francis Hospital Location: Roslyn, NY Department: Patient Experience Category: Administrative / Business Support Schedule: Part Time, Variable Days, Variable Shifts Shift: Day shift Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm ReqNum: 6017785

Support and assists the Director of Patient Relations in providing effective and efficient relations between all patients and their families with the hospital, and assists in the implementation of the Patient Bill of Rights, Patients' Rights for Pain Relief and Advance Directives.

1. A graduate of Baccalaureate Program form a College or University.Preferred course work in sociology, psychology, nursing or other appropriate discipline.

2.Four (4) years experience in human relations/health care.

3.Ability to demonstrate good judgment in verbal and non-verbal communications, sensitivity, compassion and appropriate problem-solving skills.

4.Excellent communications skills; organized and can handle multiple priorities; self-directed.Multi-lingual preferred.

5.Physically able to navigate oneself throughout the institution and to record and report information.
