Cardiothoracic Laboratory Technologist / Medical Technologist

The Cardiothoracic Laboratory Technologist is responsible for moderately complex Point of Care Laboratory testing

Cardiovascular functions and tasks associated with the performance of routine duties as they relate to patients experiencing surgical and peri-surgical procedures.

Assisting Anesthesiologist with patient monitoring, and invasive line insertions.

Knowledge of the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump to assist upon insertion, monitoring and maintenance.

The Stocking of supplies for Cardio-Thoracic Anesthesia, CT Lab, and invasive line carts for CTICU.


NYS licensed Laboratory Technologist (ASCP preferred) minimal5 years' experience

BSMT (preferred) or B.S.

BLS/ACLS/AED training

Computer skills; Cerner and Lawson knowledge preferred

Familiar with Operating Room Environment and knowledge of Sterile Technique

Able to perform moderately complex testing
