Clinical Educator

Facility: Good Samaritan Hosp Med Ctr Location: West Islip, NY Department: Nursing Education Category: Nursing / Nursing Leadership Schedule: Full Time Shift: Flex- Hours: 8:00 AM- 4:00pm ReqNum: 6011386

The Clinical Educator reports directly to the Director of Nursing Education and Research.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, didactic teaching, case based learning, facilitation of computer based programs, and clinical management. Evaluation and coaching of new employees with interdisciplinary collaboration are integral to the role.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Current NY State license as a Registered Nurse required.BSN required. Masters in Nursing or enrolled in Masters Program required. Minimum 5 years current clinical nursing experience with demonstrated leadership and teaching ability.Knowledge of adult learning principles required. Must be flexible with time assignment to accommodate the needs of the department.Current ACLS Instructor and BLS Instructor preferred. Must have knowledge of Hospital policy and procedures. Good communication and computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. Must work well with all staff.

BLS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:

American Heart Association - BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program

American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

No online programs from any organization will be accepted
