Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is a 537- bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. The GSH Customer Services department covers the Main Entrance as well as the Baxter Entrance and provides visitors with way finding, patient information and facility information all in an effort to enhance the patient and visitor experience.

Responsibilities :

Provide way finding

Provide facility information

Some transport responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of departmental policies/procedures preferred.

Ability to work independently required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Willing and able to work in a stressful environment.

Prior hospital experience preferred. Prior experience in dealing with the public preferred.

Physically able to stand for long periods and assist with transporting of patients as needed.

Basic computer skills. Typing 30 WPM preferred, Alpha Numeric-5000 Keystrokes per hour required. A computer/typing test will be administered to all applicants.

BLS or CPR/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:

oAmerican Heart Association - BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program

oAmerican Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

oNo online programs from any organization will be accepted
