Medical Director - MICU

Physician providing professional services as a staff intensivist and administrative services on behalf of the Department of Medicine, section of Pulmonary/ Critical Care Medicine. In addition to clinical care, duties and responsibilities include administrative functions such as scheduling, assignments and teaching.The Medical Director will be responsible to coordinate all necessary clinical services required to ensure quality of the care in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, supervise and adapt policies and procedures required for delivery of safe, effective patient care, responsible for staff development and direct over sight of hospital based intensivists, be the supervising physician for the physician extenders, participate in resident education on the unit, responsiblefor compliance with all regulatory agencies, serve on special committees, and ensure proper utilization of services.

Requirements:

Valid, unlimited license to practice Medicine in NYS

Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine
