Responsible for transcribing from digital dictation system equipment various types ofpathology reports utilizing laboratory information system. Other responsibilities include registration in STAR, handling reference testing send outs and scanning reports into the laboratory information system. High School diploma or equivalent required. Business School (Medical Secretarial, Transcription, etc) required or will consider experience in lieu of a formal business school education. Must have a minimum of 6 months experience in medical transcription of hospital reports. One year experience preferred. Must be proficient in medical terminology, typing, grammar and spelling. Excellent typing skills are required with knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of Microsoft Word required. Typing 50 WPM required, Alpha Numeric-5000 Keystrokes per hour required. A computer/typing test will be administered to all applicants. Must pass Microsoft Word and Excel test with a 50% or higher score.
