Physical Therapist

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is a 537- bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. With almost 900 physicians on staff, and a level II Trauma Center, we care for well over 100,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island. The Physical Therapist is responsible for delivering direct care to patients and utilizing physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician.


Evaluates patient and creates treatment plan.

Employee is able to provide verbal and written educational material to patients when appropriate

Recognizes the need for involvement of other disciplines

Creates a recommended discharge plan

Performs and records daily clinical notes

Participates in performance improvement initiatives

Completes department mandatory in-service/training/competency within specified time frame

Participates in education of staff and students within the medical center


Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy

Licensed and registered in the State of New York. CPR Certification required. Must know and utilize theory of Physical Medicine and be familiar with hospital policy, functions and procedures

BLS or CPR/AED training
