Unit Clerk

Responsible for coordinating and performing duties necessary to manage and organize the nursing unit including reception and secretarial duties, as well as accountability for accurate communication among the health care team. Maintain regulatory standards involving the medical record, and perform other duties and responsibilities as delegated by Nurse Manager and/or Assistant Nurse Manager. Must demonstrate behaviors consistent within the environment based on GSHMC's model of patient care and perform duties in a specific clinical/patient care setting.

High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous unit clerk experience preferred. Must be competent in computer/order entry. Typing 30 WPM preferred, Alpha Numeric-5000 Keystrokes per hour required. A computer/typing test will be administered to all applicants. Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology required. Must be able to perform detailed assignments and record keeping, and communicate to patients/hospital staff and visitors.
