Hear From Our Allied Health Team
"I am very proud of the excellent work and dedication that the employees of St. Francis exhibit every single day. The staff here are more than just co-workers. It is like having a second family. We support each other professionally and personally. I have made so many lifelong friends throughout the entire hospital. It is very common to see employees socializing outside of the workplace, and people from different departments gathering together for celebrations. Many employees even plan vacations together. And it doesn't end when you retire from the hospital or leave to move on to new endeavors. We all keep in touch with each other. Working in such a team oriented and supportive atmosphere, with people you bond so strongly with, is what keeps most employees staying, myself included."
Jackie Golon, R.T.(R)(M)(ARRT)
Lead Radiology Technologist
St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center®

"What makes me most proud about working at Catholic Health are the people. My department has some of the most friendly and caring people that I have met. I have made true connections with them both inside and outside of work."
Adam Brodeur, MT(ASCP)
Medical Laboratory Technologist, Blood Bank
Good Samaritan University Hospital
"I started as a Physical Therapy intern and the culture has always been to have a questioning attitude. It’s this questioning attitude and the willingness of my mentors to educate me as a new graduate that foster my growth in the department. It is these same people that are now my colleagues for almost two decades and we still ask questions wanting to learn more. There are plenty of areas for growth within the department whether it is inpatient rehab, acute care or outpatient. This enables the staff to experience different settings promoting growth both professionally and personally."
Michele Dreyzin, PT
Physical Therapy Supervisor
Mercy Hospital
Physical Therapist > Physical Therapist Supervisor
"I can personally say that hard work and success is recognized and does not go unnoticed. I have found that some of my accomplishments have been recognized by my immediate supervisors. I also received a card from my supervisor before I started to welcome me, a small touch that meant a lot."
Matthew Goldstein, PharmD
Pharmacist
St. Joseph Hospital
"I am proud to work at Catholic Health because I know this is a great organization that provides patient-based care. Catholic Health promotes a positive culture of compassion and understanding. Colleagues help one another and encourage growth."
Amanda Masillo, MT(ASCP)
Medical Laboratory Technologist, Blood Bank
St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center®
"I began as a staff RT at Mercy Hospital in July of 2001. After 20 years at Mercy, I transferred to an Outpatient/Ambulatory CHPP Pulmonary Office (Nassau Chest Physicians) and have been performing Pulmonary Function Testing. Our managers recognize us for our initiative and commitment to our jobs, within our office and via Catholic Health I-CARE. We are regularly highlighted when we receive positive comments from patient surveys."
Robert Rodman, RRT-NPS
Registered Respiratory Therapist
CHPP Nassau Chest
"From the moment I started my rotations at Good Samaritan as a student, I knew Catholic Health was where I was meant to be placed. The environment is exciting, fast-paced, and extremely rewarding. I feel most proud to be part of a culture that prioritizes patient health and safety while also ensuring fast turnaround times for lab results. This, in turn, helps physicians to determine the proper plan of care for their patients."
Samantha Pollet, MT(ASCP)
Medical Laboratory Technologist, Hematology
Good Samaritan University Hospital
"One of the main reasons why I stay is because I have the ability to grow professionally and advance my career within the organization. I went back for my graduate studies and Catholic Health, as well as my department, has been flexible to allow me to complete my coursework."
Brenda De Aza Santana, BS, RRT, AE-C
Registered Respiratory Therapist
Mercy Hospital
"Catholic Health uses the acronym I-CARE…integrity, compassion, accountability, responsibility, and excellence. I believe that the culture in the lab encompasses all those virtues. We do our best to give out the most accurate and reliable results all of the time.
Catholic Health also does tuition reimbursement and has helped people in the lab get additional certifications and degrees and also Master’s degrees."
Jennifer Caraturo, MT(ASCP)
Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist, Hematology
St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center®
Sr. Medical Laboratory Technologist, Microbiology > Sr. Medical Laboratory Technologist, Hematology
"The culture of St. Joseph is very positive. This is both within my department and between other departments. Everyone is willing to chip in and assist each other. My direct boss has daily meetings where special accomplishments are discussed and displayed in our office. There is also a special recognition program throughout the hospital that allows you to give recognition to an employee who has gone above and beyond their regular duties. Feeling appreciated definitely makes you enjoy coming to work."
Patricia Meyers, PT
Physical Therapist
St. Joseph Hospital
"The reason I love Catholic Health would have to be the relationship I have with my coworkers. I love coming into my job every day and working with my friends to help patients feel better. In my opinion, this type of teamwork creates optimal patient care experience."
Steve Powell, RRT
